Greek or English?

We were taking our benchmark in English class, and we had to read 2 stories. The first one was about a girl who wanted to play Helen of Troy in a play, and it turns out her father is a swan. I’m thinking she either IS Helen of Troy, or is her descendent. Also, the next one is about dodgeball! ^_^ LOL Dodgeball is ALSO closely related to PJO!!! THIS IS TOTALLY A PERCY JACKSON DAY!!!! ^_^
Luvs,

Jamie- I just wanted to make a quick edit. KRISTY ARE YOU BLIND!!!! Clearly, the girl in the Helen of Troy story was a demi-god of Zeus. Oh, and the dodgeball, very funny.

Does anybody know if I can find an online site where I can read it? I have this sudden craving to read Lightning Thief, and sadly, I won’t have the book until Christmas.
Thx

PJO and… Twilight?

In Twilight, there are a few scenes where Bella mentions Greek mythology, like when she says that “Edward looked more like a Greek God than anyone had a right to.” Also, she mentions Hades somewhere in the book, though I forgot where.
Awfully ironic, isn’t it?

Jamie- How can you not give me credit for that? Okay people, I was the one who noticed it and told Kristy. At first she didn’t believe me so I almost re-read the whole book (which was actually kinda fun) and found those two quotes. But yes, it is very… coincidental. I love it when books can co-exist. ‘Cuz normally you think that either Twilight can exist or PJO can. Not both. But this does change my view on that a lot.
How well do you know Greek mythology?

Hi

Hey everyone! I just created this blog because the Percy Jackson series is awesome and just made #1 on my list! ^_^
My best friend had been nagging me for a month to read Percy Jackson, and I thought it would be one of those series that you read once, think it’s okay, and never read it again, but…
It’s AMAZING!!!!! The Percy Jackson series ranks right up there for #1 with Twilight! And that’s saying something, because I was obsessed with Harry Potter (don’t ask) for 7 years, each year a new book coming out, then the series stopped… and I had nothing to read. So, I started reading Twilight at Jamie’s house at midnight… and read until 7:00 in the morning! ^_^ But with PJO, it was even worse. I got all the books at the same time, and read them continuously for a day and a half of my weekend. It took me about the same amount of time to read all the Percy Jackson books as it took me to read Twilight. I know it’s big, but still… quite an accomplishment
Rick Riordan is an amazing writer. I’ve always loved Greek mythology, so now, ta-dah!
I wish the fifth book was coming out sooner, cuz I don’t think I can wait until May.
I’m not exactly sure what to write about yet, so please bear with me until I think of something else.
